There is strength and resilience in DOF Subsea's business model

The Group is uniquely placed in two business segments - Subsea IMR Projects and Long-term Chartering - providing access to more market opportunities and revenue streams.

Subsea IMR Projects

DOF Subsea has built a reputation as a leading global IMR partner over the last decade. The Group’s awards for long-term IMR contracts demonstrate our assets, capabilities and reputation are a good fit for these projects.

IMR programs are essential to the smooth operation, production and planned maintenance of existing subsea infrastructure.

Long-term Chartering

DOF Subsea provides State of the art vessels chartered to Oil companies and major subsea contractors.  The Group has 7 vessels in operations and 2 newbuilds.

Within this segment there is a strong contract coverage and firm backlog and all the vessels are on long-term contract.

Six of the vessels within this segment are owned in a JV with Technip FMC.

Joint Venture with TechnipFMC in Brazil

A successful strategic alliance since 2009. The DOF Subsea and TechnipFMC JV has delivered six state-of-the-art vessels

Skandi Vitoria and Skandi Niteroi were the first ever Pipe-Lay Support Vessels (PLSVs) built in Brazil.

In 2013 the JV was awarded four ground-breaking contracts by Petrobras. The contracts covered the construction of four new PLSVs and their operation, in Brazilian waters, to install flexible pipes. Two were to be built in Norway and two in Brazil. The contracts will last eight years from start of operations, with options for renewal for an additional eight-year period. Under the joint venture agreement, TechnipFMC will manage flexible pipelay and Norskan S.A., a sister company of DOF Subsea, will be responsible for marine services.

In 2016, Skandi Açu, the first of the PLSVs was delivered and went on hire with Petrobras. The second, Skandi Buzios, was completed and went on hire in 2017. The last two PLSV newbuilds are underway in Brazil: Skandi Recife and Skandi Olinda will be delivered in 2018 and 2019.

In operation each of the vessels will employ approximately 200 Brazilian employees offshore and onshore to conduct operations with Petrobras.
